Asian gay and bisexual men who recently arrived in Australia are at high risk of acquiring HIV. The School of Public Health, University of Queensland, in collaboration with Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ), Queensland Council for LGBTI Health (QC), and Queensland Positive People (QPP) are working together to better understand this risk by exploring the sexual health and HIV knowledge of gay and bisexual men recently arrived from Southeast Asia* or Northeast Asia**
What is involved: We would like to interview you face to face or via Zoom (depending on the participant’s preference). For participating in the study, we will also provide $50 gift card per interview. The interviews are private and confidential. Your personal information will not be shared will be de-identified to protect your privacy.
Eligibility: Anyone who meets the following criteria:
- born in one of the countries in Southeast Asia* or Northeast Asia**;
- identify as gay, bisexual, or MSM;
- currently living in Queensland; and
- arrived in Australia less than 4 years ago.
*Southeast Asia: Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam
**Northeast Asia: China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, and North Korea
