About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and talented maintenance fitter to join a fast paced and growing FMCG food manufacturing company as a key member of the maintenance team.  By applying your exceptional experience and creativity you will be a significant contributor to our continued strong performance and long-term strategy.

As a result of our rapid growth we have looking for  a experienced committed and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our company on our journey to further success.

 Key Responsibilities

 1. Perform routine preventive maintenance on food processing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to minimize downtime and ensure the smooth operation of production lines.
2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components as needed.
3. Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and machinery.
4. Perform facility maintenance tasks, such as repairing or replacing lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment history.
6. Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring work areas are clean and free from hazards.
7. Collaborate with production staff to identify and resolve any equipment or facility issues impacting product quality or manufacturing efficiency.
8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend changes to optimize equipment performance and extend its useful life.
9. Attend training sessions and stay current with industry best practices, regulations, and maintenance techniques.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent, with a trade qualification in Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Fitter, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as general facility maintenance.
4. Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards, such as HACCP, GMP, and FDA regulations.
5. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, such as equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematic drawings.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
8. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by production schedules.
